Kitung church blessed by Keningau prelate

KENINGAU – Around 200 people turned up for the blessing of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Kg Kitung under Senagang Zone by Bishop Cornelius Piong.

Among those who witnessed the blessing and opening were Keningau Parish Pastoral Council Chairperson Stella Kinsik and YB Datuk Daniel Kinsik.

Initially, the building functioned as a community hall which was demolished and rebuilt as a church by the Kitung BEC with the help of various sectors.

In his homily, the bishop stressed that community building is more important than the material building itself.

To mark the occasion, Kinsik beat the gong five times for the five BECs under the Senagang Zone before cutting the ribbon and signing the commemorative plaque with the bishop.

All adjourned for lunch at the community hall where the guests were entertained by stage presentations by the various BEC groups. – Keningau website
