KOTA KINABALU – The Pauline Family here – Daughters of St Paul, Pauline Cooperators, Annunciationist – celebrated their Founder’s Day on 26 Nov 2015 with an Holy Hour and fellowship at the Sisters’ convent in Karamunsing.

Born on 4 April 1884 in Italy, Blessed James Alberione founded the Pauline Family – five religious institutes, four secular ones, one lay association – between 1914 and 1960 to evangelise through the communication media.  He died on 26 Nov 1971 after the visit of Pope Paul VI.  He was beatified by Pope John Paul II on 27 April 2003.

The Pauline Family now numbers more than 10,000 members and is present throughout the world in more than 60 countries.  The Daughters of St Paul came to North Borneo (now Sabah) in 1961.  They left in 1971 but returned in 1989.
