Inanam’s first religious sister celebrates silver jubilee

INANAM – More than 500 parishioners turned up to celebrate the silver jubilee of religious profession of Inanam’s first religious sister.

The parishioners joined the Laukang family to commemorate Sister Terry’s 25 years as a Franciscan Sister of the Immaculate Conception (FSIC) on 12 Feb 2017 at St Catherine Hall here.

Also present were Father David Sham, Father Paul Lo, and members of the Pastoral Council.

Prior to the fellowship in the evening, Fr Lo presided the morning Mass, which was organised by the Laukang family.

At press time, the parish has six vocations: Sr Terry fsic, Sr Doris Abiu fsic, Fr Patrick Erik Jerome, Fr Maxmillianno Hontor, and two seminarians.

In her 25 years of religious life, Sr Terry has served in St Peter Kudat (1992), Sacred Heart Cathedral Kota Kinabalu (1993 – 1994), St Anne Labuan (1995), St Aloysius Limbahau (1996), Loreto Convent Generalate Kota Kinabalu (1997-1998), St Paul Dontozidon (1999 – 2005), and back to Loreto Convent Generalate Kota Kinabalu since 2006. – Michael Guntili
