Seminary officials show appreciation to support groups

KOTA KINABALU – Seminary officials showed appreciation to support groups in the course of initial formation of candidates aspiring to the  priesthood during the closing of its academic year on 15 Dec 2016.

This could be seen in the widening circle of groups that came for the event at the St Peter’s College Initiation Year Formation House Karamunsing.  Aside from the Religious Sisters and the  Women’s League,  there were members from the Carmelite Seculars and Friends of St John Vianney as well as family members of the students.

Archbishop John Wong presided over the closing Eucharist, concelebrated with Father Rayner Bisius (director of IY Formation House), Father Wilfred Atin (director of Aspirants), Father Paul Lo  (lecturer), and Father Federick Raymond (spiritual director).

All adjourned to the open space for a fellowship meal and entertainment by the fifteen aspirants and three IY students.

Father Cosmas Lee, one of the spiritual directors, joined the gathering for the fellowship meal.

Both directors took turns to thank their respective collaborators in the formation of those under their care.

In his address, Abp Wong also thanked those concerned and gave words of encouragement to the young candidates.

The three IY students will go on to Penang College General for their philosophical studies next year.  They will be joined by five others who were in Penang for English studies.

The five second year aspirants will enter IY while the nine first year will continue their preparation for the MUET exams.

After the meal, tokens of appreciation were given to the teachers, lecturers, benefactors and collaborators.
