KOTA KINABALU – Over 20 teens turned up for the Life Night on 3 Sept 2016 and learnt about religious life in a fun way.

Timothy Fong (Life Teen Relational) invited members of the religious communities present in Sabah to be the panelists in a youth forum themed Religious Life – Behind the story?  The objective of the forum was to introduce the teens to religious life in the hope that they will be inspired to be open to the call when it comes.

Out of the seven religious institutes invited only representatives from three congregations were able to make it – the Daughters of St Paul, the Franciscan Sisters and the Marist Brothers.

After the praise and worship segment, the representatives were called up front to tell their religious stories.  Dion Fletcher, the moderator, made it “fun” for the panelists to share their personal experiences as religious.

The forum concluded with light refreshments for all.

Life Teen Ministry (for 13-18 years old) was launched together with Life Line Ministry (19 up) at Sacred Heart Cathedral Kota Kinabalu on 20 Nov 2004 with the aim to “lead teens closer to Christ.”  It originated from Arizona USA in 1985.  The core team consists of working adult volunteers while subcore members are mostly university students.  Activities include weekly Life Night gatherings, serving Mass as choir, readers and commentators, charity visits, outreaches, and annual camps.

The weekly Life nights are conducted every Saturday from 8 pm to 10 pm at Room F6, Sacred Heart Parish Centre.  All teens are welcome to join the weekly gatherings and learn about the Catholic faith in a fun way.  For more details, please contact Life Teen Coordinator, Kimberley Tamayo at this no 016- 2228437 or email address kimrosetamayo@gmail.com.
