TAMBUNAN – Korean priest Fr Leo Choi donated a life size statue of Our Lady of Lourdes (fibreglass) to St Theresa Tambunan on 16 Jan 2016.  Parish priest Fr Anthony Mikat was on hand to receive it together with Parish Pastoral Council Chairman David Benedict and some members of the Legion of Mary.

Fr Choi has been serving the little Korean community which has its Sunday Mass at Church of Mary Immaculate Bukit Padang (CMI) for some years now.  At present he is assisted by Br Ephrem Pyeon and they have their residence in Kasigui.  Local contact person is Lawrence Jakil.

The Korean priest has made it his personal mission to donate statues  of Mary to parishes or chapels which have requested it.  So far he has donated about ten statues – four life size and the rest medium size  – including CMI.

The statue was delivered to St Theresa after the Koreans attended the final profession of the two Franciscan Sisters at Holy Cross Toboh.
