KOTA KINABALU – The Parish Pastoral Council of Sacred Heart Cathedral here organised a low-keyed anniversary dinner for its parish priest Abp John Wong and assistant Fr Rhobby Mojolou on 17 Jan 2016 at a local restaurant.  This was in conjunction with the 17th and 2nd presbyteral ordination anniversaries of the archbishop and the priest respectively.

Around 270 parishioners – mainly from the different groups and ministries of the cathedral parish and subparish of Mary Immaculate – turned up to mark the occasion.  The dinner is an annual event organised by the parish in recognition of the fact that these ordained ministers have given up having families of their own in order to serve the faithful.

The highlight of the dinner was the sharing from both honourees after the cake-cutting and toast.  Both thanked those present for journeying with them down the years through their spiritual and material support.  Both ended their sharings with a plea for more prayers and in turn, assured the diners of their prayers for them.
