KIULU – Youths of St Joseph’s Church here received the SYD-4 Cross with  love and jubilation from St John Tuaran Oct 31. This was the first big celebration for the youth since the church was established as a parish on 1 Oct 2014. A day before the Cross arrived, the youth of St Joseph, led by the Youth TPBP team, gathered to prepare themselves in anticipation of the event with various activities such as reflection of the Word of God, praise and worship, and a barbecue fellowship.

On hand to welcome the Cross were the youth and other parishioners of St Joseph. The convoy from Tuaran arrived on motorcycles with the youth holding banners in their hands. The handing over ceremony was made between  Mackley of Tuaran and Amandus of Kiulu at St Michael the Archangel Lokub, 14 km from Kiulu town. Assistant parish priests, Fr Daniel Jomilong and Fr Max Hontor witnessed the ceremony.

A Mass followed, attended by 200 parishioners from both parishes, with Fr Daniel as the presider. In his homily, he reminded the youth to make Jesus as the centre of their life, symbolized by the Cross.
