Second Son of Tuaran Parish Ordained Priest

TUARAN – A second son of St John Parish Tuaran was ordained to the priesthood on 22 Aug 2022 some thirty years after the first ordination in 1992.

Fr Peter Chung Pit Soon was ordained priest by Abp John Wong on the memorial of the Queenship of Our Lady.  The first to be ordained there was Fr Aloysius Fidelis.

In his speech after the ordination, Abp Wong said he didn’t count Fr Russell Lawrine as one of St John’s sons as he is under St James Tenghilan.

The prelate expressed his gratitude to the family of the neo-ordained for encouraging and supporting him during his formative journey even though many of them are not of the same faith.

He also thanked all those who have helped the neo-ordained in one way or another to reach this point.

The archbishop urged the faithful to help the new priest to live out his vocation faithfully and also to be fully involved in the synodal church.

Come Oct 1, the neo ordained will serve in St Joseph Kiulu.
