CFC makes YOM pilgrimage to Holy Doors
KOTA KINABALU – About 180 members from the Couples for Christ (CFC) community took the opportunity during the long weekend holiday from 1-3 Oct 2016 to make the Year of Mercy Pilgrimage (YOMP).
The pilgrims went to the four Doors of Mercy in Kota Kinabalu Archdiocese, accompanied by Father Paul Lo, their spiritual adviser. They had Mass, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and Way of the Cross as part of their activities.
The preparation began at St Catherine Inanam where they had reflection, adoration and confession. The first stop was at St Peter Kudat where they stayed overnight. The next day they proceeded to Holy Rosary Limbahau and Sacred Heart Cathedral. The final lap of the pilgrimage on Oct 3 was at St Peter Claver Ranau. As there were many groups of pilgrims there, the CFC pilgrims had their Mass in the parish hall.
After lunch, Father Nicholas Stephen, pastor of St Peter Claver, met the pilgrims and explained to them the significance of their baptismal vows. Then they renewed their baptismal vows at the baptismal pool outside the parish hall. They concluded their three-day pilgrimage with the challenging Way of the Cross outside the church. – Jerome Majanil, CFC
