St Simon Pastoral Care Ministry organises visit to Holy Family Residence

visit to holy family residence

PAPAR – THE Pastoral Care Ministry’s outreach team from St Simon Catholic Church Likas, together with several parishioners, visited the Holy Family Residence in Papar on 21 May 2016.

On hand to welcome the visitors were Sr Clara and Sr Ailyn. The team brought with them dry food, provisions as well as provided lunch for some 40 residents of the Home.

Among the activities held during the trip were singing of hymns and fellowship with the elderly.

The team also took time to listen to the residents’ stories and recognised some familiar faces due to their regular trips there. The visit was part of the Ministry’s Jubilee Year of Mercy programme.

Earlier in May, over 20 boxes of used clothing, towels and blankets were distributed to kampungs in Sapulut, Keningau. These were donated by the parishioners over the Lenten period and in the previous months.

The recipients were from Kg Tonomon, Kg Liningkar, Kg Bukokoh and Kg Kangkamon. Many expressed appreciation for the donations and the good condition of the items. – SOCCOM St Simon
