The children of Church of Mary Immaculate (CMI) celebrated the birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ. with a Children Christmas Party on Sunday, Dec 22 at the CMI canteen. The occasion was well attended by over 100 parishioners, comprising of parents and 92 children who have registered earlier for the party.

cs20140201_bishopconferenceJOHOR BARU – The 93rd Plenary Session of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei (CBCMSB) took place at Majodi Centre, Plentong, Johor, Jan 6-10.

Vatican’s first resident Apostolic Nuncio to Malaysia and Apostolic Delegate to Brunei, Archbishop Joseph Marino addressed the Arch/bishops at the opening session. Ten Arch/bishops from the region were present.

Earlier Archbishop John Ha, president of the CBCMSM chaired the CBC meeting and welcomed Archbishop Joseph Marino and Msgr Marek Zalewski, the First Counsellor of the Apostolic Nunciature in Malaysia and all Arch/bishops for their presence.

The desire and sense of being in formation, which I believe is a journey guided by God Himself, continues to blossom and flourish as time passes.

God calls whosoever He chooses and whensoever He wants. His call is a life-changing experience which can never be replaced by anything else. He reveals things in His own time, and this is what I want to share in this little sharing of my journey.

Obituary: Fr Peter Ma

cs20140116_petermaKOTA KINABALU(CS/Fr Robert O’Neil mhm).- Fr Peter Ma, a Chinese national, was born in the village of Hoi Yin Toi Shaa, Kwong Tung, China in 1925.

His parents and grandparents were Catholics. His father was Joseph Wah Chun Ma and his mother, Mary Lui Aah Ying.

He has four brothers and two sisters. One older brother, Thomas, was a priest and was imprisoned for 15 years by the communists and only died six months ago at the age of 91. One sister, Ma Shi Him, still lives in China.

Fr Brian Coogan Celebrates 90th Birthday In Sabah

KOTA KINABALU(CS).- Fr Brian Coogan, who served in Sabah as a priest and teacher, will be back in Sabah to celebrate his 90th birthday with his ex-students and friends. He came to Sabah in 1957 and had served the various Catholic community throughout the State for a period of 9 years. He will arrive in Sabah Jan 22 and will leave Feb 20. During his stay in Kota Kinabalu, a birthday dinner will be held in his honour at the Grand Port View Restaurant Feb 6.
