SANDAKAN – Around 120 parishioners including Bishop Julius, Fr Phillip Muji, the Good Shepherd Sisters and the Franciscan Sisters commemorated the Feast of Immaculate Conception beginning with the recitation of the Holy Rosary along the Rosary Corridor at Marian mount, and concluding with the Eucharistic Mass at the top of Marian Mount (pic).
KOTA KINABALU (CS) – The Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu launched the Year of Consecrated Life during the celebration of Mass on the first Sunday of Advent, which was presided by Archbishop John Wong at Sacred Heart Cathedral on 29 Nov 2014.
KOTA KINABALU – Finding the truth about the meaning of life in the most simple environment amongst ordinary people is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. However, that is what was offered to 20 young seminarians and aspirants in the Alpha course which provides answers, centred on Jesus and his teaching, to questions of life and faith.
It was the first Alpha exposure for the seminarians brought in by Fr Wilfred Atin and Fr Michael Modoit, spiritual directors to the aspirants and the Initiation Year seminarians respectively.
SANDAKAN – About 200 parishioners gathered at St Joseph’s Church to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bishop Julius Gitom and the 36th anniversary of Fr Thomas Makajil’s ordination to the priesthood, Nov 19.
Concelebrating the Thanksgiving Mass with him were Bishop Cornelius Piong of Keningau, seven Diocesan Priests and five other priests, all former classmates of Bishop Julius at St Peter’s College, Major Seminary, Kuching.
KOTA KINABALU – The Alpha Team celebrated the 10th year of Alpha in a Catholic Context, which is being run at the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish here with a thanksgiving dinner.
Anthony Lim, Alpha Course leader for Sacred Heart Cathedral, emphasised to a crowd of more than 900 people at the celebration dinner organized by the Alpha Team to thank and praise God for the gift of Alpha.
