PASAY CITY, Philippines – Another Daughter of St Paul pioneer in British North Borneo (now Sabah) has died at the age of 94 here on 29 Jan 2023. Born in 1929 in Manila, Purificacion Justo entered the Congregation of the Daughters of St Paul in 1952, took her first vows in 1956 with the religious name of Sr Maria Costanza, and was sent to Taiwan in 1959. After her final profession in March 1961, she was assigned to Jesselton (now Kota Kinabalu) for about a year before she was recalled to the Philippines for good. She had served in Cagayan de Oro, Vigan, Naga, and Pasay. Over the years, she was hospitalised often, sometimes even for months at a time. These medical interludes she bore with much patience until her death two days after her 94th birthday.
