CMI-PPC holds 2-in-1 gathering for Sr Magdalene
KOTA KINABALU – Members of the pastoral committee of the Church of Mary Immaculate Bukit Padang held a two-in-gathering for Pauline Sister Magdalene (Maggie) Chong at the Daughters of St Paul Convent here on 29 June 2017.
Each member (some with their families) came with a different dish to share so all could enjoy the variety of dishes.
The event marked Sr Maggie’s 33rd anniversary of religious profession as well as a send-off for her as she would be transferring to the Petaling Jaya community on July 7.
Sr Maggie has served as an ex-officio member of the pastoral committee since 2001. She has been with the KK Paulines community since 1995 – around 22 years.
Transfer of sisters to the different communities is part and parcel of religious life. For the Daughters of St Paul, it is normally done every three or six years. It is an opportunity for each sister concerned to share the wealth of her gifts or talents with the people to whom she is sent.
