Asian Women Religious Tell Their Stories

BANGKOK, Thailand – Asian women religious told their stories thanks to the “Wisdom Calls” workshop organised by SIGNIS Asia May 8-10 at the FABC Building here.

Twelve women religious from different religious institutes took part in the two-day workshop wherein they were taught how to tell their stories – the different works they are doing in their respective countries of Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, Timor Leste, Indonesia, Taiwan and the Philippines with facilitators from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

The intensive workshop programme featured an interesting mix of  photo language, writing for print and the different social media platforms.  They also listened to the online address of Sr Nina Benedikta Krapic, Deputy Director of the Holy See Office, who actually was the one behind this workshop.  As she told the participants: “Sisters preserve human faces through loving service.  Our faces and voices are unique gifts to the world; therefore, we have the responsibility to communicate God’s love in mainstream media through creative storytelling.

The workshop concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at St Louis Church Bangkok.
