Papar parishioners turn up by hundreds for Christmas Midnight Mass
PAPAR – Hundreds of parishioners turned up for the celebration of Christmas Midnight Mass at St Joseph Church here on 24 Dec 2016.
The parishioners filled up the church, Fr John Tsung Hall and the Mother of Mercy Catechetical Centre Open Hall.
At the entrance procession, a young boy carried Baby Jesus to the manger next to the altar and laid him there after Father Thomas Madanan had blessed it.
In his homily, Fr Madanan said that the birth of Jesus Christ is for our salvation and by worshipping him, we can embrace his holiness.
He added, “In this secularised world we are too complacent and as such, we must return to the traditional teaching of the Catholic Church, so that we all could experience the sacred mysteries of the birth of Jesus Christ.”
After Mass the parishioners were invited to a light supper and watch a brief video presentation at the open hall. – William C Mindus, Papar-Limbahau SOCCOM
