INANAM – Over 600 parishioners from Holy Family Telipok, Good Shepherd Manggatal, and St Catherine Inanam attended a formal one-hour briefing on the Year of Mercy by Father Fundes Motiung at St Catherine Church on 10 Oct 2016.

He explained what the Year of Mercy is, and why there is a need to go through the Door of Mercy, as well as the various steps and preparation before and after entering the Holy Doors in order to experience a meaningful pilgrimage.

Pope Francis called for an Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, which began on 8 Dec 2015 and would end on 20 Nov 2016.  Thousands of parishioners have joined pilgrimages to the designated Doors of Mercy at Sacred Heart Cathedral, St Peter Claver Ranau, Holy Rosary Limbahau, and St Peter Kudat since January 2016.

Father Paul Lo, in welcoming the crowd to the briefing,  underlined that the briefing could be utilised by would-be pilgrims as preparation. – Michael Guntili
