Over 200 children receive first holy communion at SHC-CMI

KOTA KINABALU – Over 200 children received their first holy communion at Sacred Heart Cathedral here and Church of Mary Immaculate (CMI) Bukit Padang over the weekend of 29-30 Oct 2016.

At the cathedral parish, 115 children received Jesus Oct 29 while 43 received him at the 7 am Chinese Mass, and 85 at the 10:45 am BM Mass the next day.  At CMI, 26 made their first holy communion Oct 30.

The reception was held at the parish hall after each Mass.  After the meal, the first communicants received their certificates while their teachers/facilitators received a personal letter of appreciation from the parish priest or his assistants.

It is hoped that the parents/guardians and teachers/facilitators of these first communicants will help them to grow in their relationship with the Lord.
