KK prelate assures lay leaders of his prayers for them
KOTA KINABALU – Archbishop John Wong assured lay leaders of his prayers for them.
He made this assurance at the dinner marking his sixth episcopal ordination anniversary on 2 Oct 2016 at a local restaurant.
Around 200 lay leaders and members of parish groups/ministries turned up for the dinner organised by the Pastoral Council of Church of Mary Immaculate (CMI) Bukit Padang, subparish of Sacred Heart Cathedral (SHC) Kota Kinabalu.
In attendance were the four assistants of the parish: Frs Rhobby Mojolou, Mitchelly Kium, Maxmillianno Hontor and Joshua Liew, and Korean priest Fr Leo Choi, SHC PPC chairman Jason Joenoi and CMI chairperson Clarice Ligadu, the Franciscan Sisters and the Daughters of St Paul.
In his speech, the KK prelate also shared his shock at being conferred the state’s second highest honour, Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) which carries the title of “Datuk” the day before (Oct 1) in conjunction with the 63rd birthday of the Head of State Tun Juhar Mahiruddin.
