Pauline Cooperators mark silver jubilee with retreat

KOTA KINABALU – The Association of Pauline Cooperators in Sabah marked its silver jubilee of foundation with a retreat on 29-31 May 2017 in Kundasang.

Facilitating the retreat was Filipino Pauline Father Dominador Guzman (aka Fr Domie) who inducted the first 14 members 25 years ago.

The retreat helped the 27 participants (Pauline Cooperators and collaborators) to look back on their journey as Pauline Cooperators through the theme God’s co-workers called and commissioned to the world in the spirit of St Paul under the gaze of Mother Mary.

At the end of the retreat, the Pauline Cooperators renewed their pledge of commitment.

The Thanksgiving Mass was held at the chapel of the Daughters of St Paul on June 1, followed by a fellowship meal.  It was attended by around 35 people, including the family members and friends of the Pauline Cooperators.

In his homily, based on the liturgical readings for St Justin Martyr, Fr Domie encouraged the Pauline Cooperators to continue to be the “light of the world” and “salt of the earth” in their service to the Church and to the Pauline Family.

Tokens of appreciation were presented to the pioneers present and some active members after Mass by Local Superior Sister Christine Sundin, assisted by Sister Jennifer Han, FSP coordinator of the Pauline Cooperators.

Sister Agnes Wong, second superior of Sabah (1996-2001), was present for the thanksgiving celebration.  She has been assigned to Spain since 2013 and is currently on home leave for a month.
