LJCCC organises Pentecost LSS

page 3 LSSKOTA KINABALU – The Light of Jesus Christ Covenant Community (LJCCC) organised a Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS) in conjunction with Pentecost on 21-24 May 2015.

The event was held at the Sacred Heart Parish  Centre Karamunsing, attended by over a 100 parishioners.

“Share the baptism of the Holy Spirit with everyone in the Church.  It is not only the charismatics that need the Holy Spirit but that the Church needs the Holy Spirit – every Christian in his or her life requires a heart open to the sanctifying action of the Holy Spirit”.

This was a charge given by Pope Francis in his key address to the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships at their 16th International Conference in Rome last year Oct 30-Nov 2.

The intense LSS program, which covers 7 topics ranging from the Lordship of Jesus Christ, God’s Love, Salvation, Receiving God’s Gift, Baptism of the Holy Spirit, Growth, and Transformation, offers participants the privilege of an encounter with Jesus Christ, to receive a fuller experience of the work of the Spirit in their lives, as well as to hear the gospel again in order to respond with an authentic and deeper commitment to Christ.

Ignatius Sipaun, not the first time to an LSS, came back to experience more about what it means to live in the Spirit, to understand more about the workings of the Holy Spirit, to have a clearer direction to move forward, to deepen his sacramental life, and putting it in a nutshell, to comply with God in the way He wants him to live his life under the guidance and help of the Holy Spirit.

Andrew Boey, came in need of refreshment for his faith, a renewed vision and understanding in the light of life’s problems.  The LSS has brought about a consciousness of falling into the traps of laziness and giving up too easily in his struggles of keeping faith.  With the power of the Holy Spirit, he expects to be fully restored his eagerness for things of God and a yearning to know Him, love Him and serve Him more.

Florida Jovita, came fully expectant of a renewal of self, to deepen her new life in the Spirit.

Mary Yapp, experiencing LSS for the first time, has some questions of faith answered.  She wants to experience vibrant faith and her search leads her to the LSS.

The trio who came together to experience LSS for the first time, Arlene Chong, sisters Margaret and Cecilia Wan, were amazed to learn new things about their faith, in particular of the person of the Holy Spirit.  They were excited to know about Him and to let him come into their lives, and how their ‘new life in the Spirit’ would take shape.
