The official Crest of the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu was released on 21 Nov 2016.  Design by Fr Nicholas Stephen; explanation by Abp John Wong, Msgr Primus Jouil, Fr Bruno Yasun, Fr Nicholas Stephen, Fr Alex Sipanul, Fr Wilfred Atin.  Edited by Fr Cosmas Lee.

The crest features three items, from top to bottom: the Greek Chi and Rho Christogram in red; an outline of Mount Kinabalu in blue; an Ark/Boat in brown.

CHI-RHO Christogram signifies CHRIST.  Red signifies courage.

MOUNT KINABALU which rises above all, symbolising the local Church staying firm and overcoming the challenges tp the faith in a multi-cultural-religious society. Blue symbolises calm and peace.

BOAT/ARK signifying the Sacred Vessel of the Church – the archdiocesan community comprising the archbishop, priests, relgious and laity – carrying out her mission and journeying together towards the archdiocesan pastoral vision. Brown symbolises simplicity and humility.
