On Coronavirus Crisis (Covid-19)
OVERVIEW
In December 2019, a new virus was detected in Wuhan, China and began spreading rapidly in January. This novel Coronavirus (COVID -19) causes a respiratory (lung) infection.
Over the last three months, the novel coronavirus outbreak has spread to more than a hundred countries and regions in the world, infected more than hundred thousand people and caused about four thousands of deaths. It has now been declared a global pandemic by WHO.

PRESS RELEASE
On Friday, March 13th 2020, in adherence to the advise received from the state officials at the Ministry of Health, Archbishop John Wong of the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu announced a temporary suspension of all masses and other gatherings in the archdiocese effective Saturday, 14 March to Wednesday April 01, 2020 due to the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The third Phase of the MCO has been enforced by the government until 28 April 2020. Our Archbishop has reminded us to comply with it earnestly and willingly as part of our contribution to fight the pandemic. Read the full text of his pastoral letter.
