Young ‘missionaries’ eager to tell the world of God’s Love

BUNDU TUHAN (CS) – Eighty-four children from the Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish Children’s Liturgy (English) came away from a Children’s Retreat with a firmer idea of what a missionary’s role is all about.

The Children’s Retreat, which is a yearly event organized by the SHC Children’s Liturgy (English), was held in the cool conducive environment of the Bundu Tuhan Retreat Centre Mar 25-27.

Neil Mah facilitated the retreat, assisted by 11 adults and 21 teenagers/young adults.

Parish priest Fr Paul Lo, who is keenly interested and fully supportive, took time to be at the retreat and presided the Opening Mass for the retreat.

The sessions and activities were mainly focused on the saints and through them their witnesses of missions, so as to introduce to the children the concept of mission, the role of a missionary, in conjunction with the Extraordinary Missionary Year called by the Church.

Besides the main input, there were times set aside for action songs, morning and night prayers, morning exercise, group presentations and as it was Lent time, a Way of the Cross.

The children came away from the retreat enriched in their faith and with a seed planted for mission.
