Dunstan was born in 909. He belonged to a noble family and served as abbot of Glastonbury Somerset and bishop of Worcester and London and finally archbishop of Canterbury. He was zealous in building churches, promoting monastic life and restoring church discipline. He died in 988 and was buried at Canterbury Cathedral. – CTS New Daily Roman Missal 2012, p 2693.
