anthonyAnthony was born in 1502 at Cremona Italy.  He studied medicine in Padua.  After his ordination to the priesthood, he founded the Clerks Regular of St Paul (Barnabites) in 1530, one of the new congregations that pushed forward the reforms of the Catholic Reformation.  He died at thirty-six in 1539 as a result of his unceasing apostolic labours. – CTS New Daily Roman Missal 2012, p 2813; Christian Prayer 1990, p 1169
