Eternal rest for Fr. Alex Jimsy Jolius
PENAMPANG (Catholic Sabah) – Archbishop John Wong has today announced the passing of Fr Alex Jimsy Jolius at 3.39pm at his family residence in Kg Mahandoi here.
30 October 2021
It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that I announce the passing of Rev Fr Alex Jimsy Jolius today at 3.39 pm at his family residence at Kg Mahandoi, Penampang. He was 60.
Fr Jimsy was ordained priest on 23 October 1995 at Holy Nativity Terawi Church. He has been serving in the Archdiocese of Kota Kinabalu as an assistant priest in various parishes. He has to be retired earlier due to acute diabetes and kidney failures. He was initially stationed at the Holy Family Residence in Purak and later stayed in his family residence as he needed nursing care badly. He succumbed to his sickness today in the presence of his family members.
Due to the requirement of health protocol during this pandemic, his wake prayers and funeral arrangement have yet to be arranged. It will be announced to the public once the details are finalized.
On behalf of the Archdiocese and all the clergy, I wish to extend our deepest condolence to the family members of the late Fr. Jimsy in this time of loss and we unite with them in fraternal prayers.
“Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
Let perpetual light shine upon him.
May his soul all the souls of all the faithful departed,
Through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen!”
