guardian-angel-iconThree days ago the Church’s liturgy celebrated the Angels Michael, Gabriel and Raphael.  Today is the turn of those angels who, according to Scripture and Tradition, guard and assist us at every moment.  Each person has such a guardian angel and we rightly rejoice in their company.  The Old Testament looked upon the Angel Michael as guardian of Israel and repeatedly referred to angels as guarding patriarchs and individuals.  Jesus made reference to the angels of certain children. – CTS New Daily Roman Missal 2012, p 3038; Vatican II Weekday Missal 1975, p 1781
