comgallComgall was born in 516 in Dal Araide Antrim.  He was the founding Abbot of Bangor on Belfast Lough, where his students included St Columbanus.  A friend of St Columba, he was famous for his emphasis on study and strict discipline. He died in 601. – CTS New Daily Roman Missal 2012, p 2678.
